Pep Talk Tuesday, October 1st

Happy Tuesday and happy first day of October!  If you don't follow me on Facebook, you may not be aware, but I took a big leap on Sunday and posted a video on YouTube.  I am going to start documenting my journey on YouTube.  I'm nervous and I know I need to improve my editing skills, but I did it.  Y'all, I mean this is HUGE for me.  I started reading Do It Scared by Ruth Soukup and it definitely brought me to some "a-ha" moments and I'm not even out of the fear archetypes yet.  Between Jordan Lee Dooley's book, Own Your Everyday and this book, I feel like I'm in a position to really make some progress on me.  Getting out of my comfort zone and not being so afraid is definitely going to help me reach my goals.  My plan is to post 2 videos per week but I haven't decided specifically on my days yet but my first video is up.

I'm excited to see where this new adventure takes me.  I mean I'm already trying things that I never would because I was afraid it wouldn't be good enough.  Here's the thing, if you are struggling with this as well, do me a favor, just try it.  If you aren't as good as you would like to be, practice and you will improve.  Mom always told me when I was learning to play the piano that "practice makes perfect".

Now for my goals for this month, not all of which are weight loss related, but I think will definitely help me there as well.

- post 2 videos per week on YouTube
- Track my food and shoot for blue dot days at least 5 days each week.
- Water, water, water.
- Cardio even if it's just walking, 3 times per week.
- Try a craft or work on a crafting project, at least once per week.
- Hone in on my meal planning skills.

I know some of these are a little different, but I'm so excited about adding some of these to my goals.  I feel like getting out of my comfort zone a little is going to help me in so many different areas.  Have a wonderful Tuesday and wishing you a wonderful October!

What's Cooking Wednesday, May 7, 2025

I hesitate to even call this a recipe.  I have been making this super easy, but versatile recipe for years.  My ex-grandmother-in-law made hers spicier, but for my young one (at the time I started making this) wasn't a fan of spicy foods.  So I created a cheeseburger variety of the meat pie.  It's simply Grands biscuits, hamburger meat and cheese.  I believe she used the standard biscuit, but I have been using Grands for years.  You can absolutely change this up to use different ingredients, but it's a family favorite so I haven't changed it much.  I may do a different variety soon to bring to you!   You can watch the video here:  YouTube

Picnic in the Park Collab

S’mores Protein Bites Recipe You can find the original recipe  here  from Six Sisters' Stuff.  The one below is the way I prepared it. Ingredients 1½ cups Simple Truth Old Fashioned Oats ¼ cup crushed graham cracker crumbs ½ cup Simple Truth almond butter ½ cup raw honey ¼ cup vanilla protein powder (I used Orgain Vanilla Protein Powder) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ½ cup mini marshmallows ¼ cup mini chocolate chips Instructions Combine all ingredients in a bowl or stand mixer until well combined. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on a baking sheet covered with foil or parchment paper. Place in the freezer for about 1 hour, then store in a resealable bag or airtight container in the fridge for up to a week (or in the freezer for up to a month). This original recipe says 15 servings.  I am not sure if I used a smaller scoop but I came out with 25 or so.  There were a couple that were smaller.
