July 2nd...Goals...Brand New or Re-Newed?

 Happy Sunday friends!  I hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC day!  We had a blessed service at church this morning!  I was thinking a little bit yesterday on my goals for this month.  I really want to make sure that I am on task for the bigger goal next month....we are returning to Colorado this summer and I want to make sure I can make it up the mountain without my husband's assistance.  This is a picture of my sweet husband and I on our honeymoon 8 years ago.  I have wanted to go back, but we really never had the opportunity.  I know there are times I was in better shape than I am in this picture and, to be honest, better shape than I am right this very minute, but this is something that is important to me.  I remember how beautiful that it was and I remember the mini-milestone views on the way up.  I know that there is not an artist alive that can match God's handiwork.  He simply does amazing work.

So my goals this much are basically as follows:

1.  Focus on cardio;
2.  Track dinner each weeknight;
3.  Focus on getting a fruit and/or veggie in at every meal;
4.  Do some strength training twice a week.  Now, this may not be a strength training workout, it may be pilates, yoga or something like that.

  1. Your picture looks a lot like when my fiance and I get pictures together, with him WAY taller than me, ha ha. He is over a foot taller than me. Great goals for the month! Hope you have a great time in Colorado! It looks beautiful.

What's Cooking Wednesday, May 7, 2025

I hesitate to even call this a recipe.  I have been making this super easy, but versatile recipe for years.  My ex-grandmother-in-law made hers spicier, but for my young one (at the time I started making this) wasn't a fan of spicy foods.  So I created a cheeseburger variety of the meat pie.  It's simply Grands biscuits, hamburger meat and cheese.  I believe she used the standard biscuit, but I have been using Grands for years.  You can absolutely change this up to use different ingredients, but it's a family favorite so I haven't changed it much.  I may do a different variety soon to bring to you!   You can watch the video here:  YouTube

Meal Plan (and make a plan) Monday, April 27, 2025

Happy Monday, friends!  I hope you are looking forward to a good week!  It's time again to share my meal plan for the week.  I suspect breakfasts will be fend for ourselves.  Last week, I think we all ate a lot of cereal.  Lunches this week will likely be chicken salad and a pasta meal.  I, unfortunately, got hit with a round of vertigo at the end of last week that is wrecking havoc on my ability to move too much and it stinks.  I will be going back to what the allergy doctor suggested a couple of years ago...using my daily oral meds (Xyzal and Mucinex), as well as nasal rinse twice a day and nasal allergy spray.  While I know that vertigo for everyone isn't caused by the fluid in the ears, it seems to be for me most times when I've had it.  It's miserable when I can't even sit up without feeling nauseous. Anyway, for that reason, our meals for the week are going to be relatively easy and may even be repeats of meals I have had on the plan th...
