Hello September! September 1, 2017

I have to tell you that August just flew by for us.  Prepping for vacation, going on vacation, getting back and having so much to catch up on once we got back.  Good things have happened this month!  What happened, you ask?  Well, the thing I have been waiting on for 8 years...I MADE IT UP THE MOUNTAIN BY MYSELF!  Yes, I am proud of this!  I did have to make several stops on the way up and on the way down, but I MADE IT!  For most of the days of our vacation, I hit 10,000 or more steps.  There were times we were in the car so long on the drive that it was impractical to think I would hit 10,000 steps, but I felt good about my efforts on vacation.

There are several places that I wish we'd had a little more time to spend there, but DH and I are already trying to plan another trip to try to ride more trains and see more train museums.  I do hope to see more of Colorado for sure.  When we left the Y of the Rockies, we headed towards Kansas so I could no longer say that I have never been there.  We didn't get to do much there because we needed to get home.  Aside from the sunburn that I got in the car on the way there, it was a nice trip.

After we got back, I had a few days of I really don't want to move, but then decided I needed to get back in my morning workout routine.  I used to get up early and get my workout done before my work day started.  I enjoy it greatly because it eliminates the possibility that I will make an excuse not to do it.  Aside from that, if I am doing it in the morning, it doesn't interfere with our church schedule.  The first week, I managed 6 days of workouts.  Last week, I managed to get in 4 days.  I had a bad headache for days so I decided to skip one day.    My headache has eased but hasn't gone away completely.  I do love the fact that I have gotten my workouts in early.  It sets me up for the day and, honestly, it helps me make better choices throughout my day.  So, with the beginning of a new month, here are my goals for September:

1. Lose 4 to 8 pounds;
2. Continue my morning workouts;
3. Continue to focus on less processed foods.
